About Us
The Helford Gardener is an independent and family-run business; we work, live and raise our family on the Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall.
Our general geographical area of coverage includes the Lizard Peninsula (including Helford, Coverack, St. Keverne, Cadgwith, Ruan Minor, Lizard Village and Mullion), Helston, Porthleven and Praa Sands across to Falmouth and all areas in between.

Pressure Washing
The Helford Gardener provides pressure washing services.
We can pressure wash terraces, paths and steps to remove algae, which occurs because of damp conditions and reduced sunlight.
Grass Cutting and Lawn Care
The Helford Gardener uses battery powered DeWalt lawn mowers, that are environmentally cleaner and quieter, with no lingering fuel smells. They mulch or collect the grass. The mulching option cuts the grass and returns the small pieces to the lawn. It encourages the lawn to be more drought tolerant as well as nature friendly.
Other lawn services to improve your lawn are also available, these include top dressing, re-seeding and applying lawn sand. We also scarify and aerate lawns in Spring and Autumn.
Hedge Cutting
Hedges can provide privacy, act as a wind break and also give wildlife much needed shelter and protection.
The Helford Gardener can trim the hedge to meet your height and depth requirements to keep it looking good all year round.
Maintenance trimming is generally carried out early spring and late summer. Timing of pruning should take into account the potential for nesting birds and be delayed until after the nesting season (considered to run from March to August) if there are any signs that indicate nesting activities.
Weeding
Whether it is mulching, hoeing or hand weeding that is required, the Helford Gardener can help keep weeds under control.
Regular maintenance to keep on top of weeds is required to avoid the use of weedkiller.

Soil and Plant Care

The Helford Gardener can clear leaves from paths, gravel and terraces. The best place for these collected leaves are your flower beds where they become leaf mulch that is nutritious for your soil.
Winter Preparation
The Helford Gardener can help prepare your garden for winter.
We can repair fencing and during dry periods we can paint your fences.
We can also clear ground drains of debris to allow the rain and surface water to quickly drain away.
